Child benefit cut prompts employers to examine employee benefits

Salary exchange will become more important within the remuneration strategy.

This week, families with an earner who makes more than £43,875 discovered they would lose their child benefit. The Conservative party has come in for a degree of criticism over the matter, most notably from their own support base, but what does the benefit cut mean for businesses?

According to LCP Employee Benefits Consulting the withdrawal by the UK government, from 2013, of child benefits from families where one or both parents are higher-rate taxpayers could prompt a flurry of employee benefit strategy reviews.
